The penultimate meeting of HHMM included its annual competition for all those
that had not entered their film in a competition in the past year.
There was, I thought, a respectable amount of entrants,
although our chairman Brian Harris might well disagree
with me strongly on that point, especially from Guy,
husband and wife team Lesley and Peter Austin and our youngest member Alex.
Alex came in for third position with a musical cartoon,
I'm sure I have that wrong and will be corrected by somebody near at hand at the first possible moment.
Lesley came a good second with some old footage of Virginia City and steam trains but her husband, Peter,
came a very healthy first with his rendition of the Wrong
Number - Curiosity
A round of applause please for one and all.
The later part of the evening was spent watching a film
archive of the 1930's Odeon cinema in Southend which had fallen into
neglected decay, followed by it's rise from the ashes into a
modern world.
The first Wednesday in June sees our last meeting with
the Annual General Meeting with possibly newly
elected officers or committee members. Or all stays the
same for next years foray into the scenes, stories and
sounds we create for 2008.
See you all in the fall. Oops Autumn.
